Notice is hereby given that a class action lawsuit was filed on May 18, 2000, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on behalf all persons who sold the put options of Conseco, Inc., (NYSE:CNC - news; ``Conseco '' or the ``Company'') between April 28, 1999, and April 5, 2000, inclusive (the ``Class Period'').
The complaint charges Conseco and certain of its officers and directors with violation of Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 promulgated thereunder. The complaint alleges that defendants issued a series of materially false and misleading statements concerning its subsidiary Conseco Finance, which was formerly known as Green Tree Financial Corporation (``Green Tree'') and the value of Green Tree's portfolio of interest-only securities.
Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of class members and is represented by, among others, the law firm of Stull, Stull & Brody. Stull, Stull and Brody has litigated many class actions for violations of securities laws in federal courts over the past 25 years and has obtained court approval of substantial settlements on numerous occasions.
If you are a member of the class described above, you may, not later than sixty days from April 7, 2000, move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff of the class, if you so choose. In order to serve as lead plaintiff, however, you must meet certain legal requirements.
